Unveiling the Power of Community Acupuncture

Community acupuncture is a holistic approach to health that brings people together for healing.

At our Courtenay, BC clinic, we embrace Community Acupuncture, a practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that promotes collective healing. By treating multiple people in a shared space, we create an environment of mutual support and energy. Not only does it make acupuncture more accessible and affordable due to the sliding scale fee structure, but it also amplifies the healing power of this ancient practice. Benefits can be wide ranging including, but not limited to stress relief, improved sleep, enhanced immunity, and a greater sense of balance and wellbeing. Experience the beauty of shared healing with our community acupuncture sessions.

What is Community Acupuncture? Community Acupuncture takes place in a large open room, with multiple reclining chairs spaced apart. The chairs are in a circle with no walls in between. This creates a communal healing space which can enhance the power of the treatments as well as create a sense of togetherness. This draws back the curtains of the mysterious acupuncture modality and brings it out into the open.

Using a shared space like this allows the practitioner to provide effective acupuncture to multiple people at a time. This allows for the price to be dramatically lower then a private session, making this the most affordable option for acupuncture. Price is on a sliding scale, so patients are able to choose the amount they pay - $40-$70 for an Initial appointment, $30 - $60 for any follow ups. Each treatment is about an hour long, giving patients lots of time to rest while retaining the acupuncture pins.

These appointments are billable to insurance so detailed receipts will be provided, but the practitioner will not be able to provide direct billing. You will have to submit your own claims to your insurance provider. Free 15 minute consultation are not offered for Community Acupuncture as it is priced to allow for people just to come and try it out.

Patients will be fully clothed, so we ask that you wear loose clothing that can be rolled up past the knees and elbows. This allows the practitioner to access a majority of the most foundational acupuncture points - knees and elbows down, as well as the head and neck. Warm layers are also a good idea as people often cool off once they relax.

Patients who are sensitive to noise are invited to bring earplugs or headphones. If you have a small pillow or blanket you would like to keep yourself comfortable you are more then welcome to bring that as well.
